The McEntire Legacy: 2.4

Caroline and Ronaldo had both maxed their careers as a Space Ranger and a Patron of the Arts. They had also both completed their aspirations, and were excited to have more time to spend together.

“I’m so happy I get to spend more time with you!” Caroline told Ronaldo.

“Me too,” Ronaldo said in a rare moment of lucidity. Caroline smiled and kissed him on the cheek.

Not everything was perfect, though. Tyler had told his parents about Delilah’s risky behavior, and much to Delilah’s displeasure, Ronaldo and Caroline were ready to discuss it.

“What you were doing was very inappropriate, young lady!” Caroline said, scolding her daughter. “Did it even occur to you that you could get pregnant?”

“What about the other risks?” Ronaldo demanded. “I knew I didn’t like that boy being around my daughter!”

“But he’s my boyfriend!” Delilah protested. “We’re promised to each other!”

“Promised or not, you two have to be careful,” Caroline said sternly, but with less anger.

“Fribble Mushdink Looranz!” Ronaldo exclaimed emphatically.

“Your father says you should be ashamed of yourself,” Caroline translated. Their long marriage had allowed her to understand Ronaldo’s incoherent babbling.

“I love him!” Delilah cried. Caroline’s face softened.

“I think it’s time we had the talk,” she said, looking to Ronaldo.

Ronaldo took a deep breath.

“When a girl sim and boy sim love each other very much…” he began, “The birds and the bees become best friends, and give a stork to the happy couple as a gift!” Caroline put her hand to her head in incredulous disappointment. Why did she think Ronaldo was capable of explaining this? Delilah looked very embarrassed, but Ronaldo was grinning as if patting himself on the back for a job well done.

“I’ll explain it to you, Delilah” Caroline said with a sigh. Delilah listened patiently but still seemed very embarrassed. Ronaldo too seemed to being paying rapt attention. Caroline wondered how after having two kids, he seemed to not know how it worked.

“But, you should only do that with someone you really love and care about, and you need to be safe,” Caroline finished.

Delilah hugged her parents and apologized for her behavior. She was still embarrassed, but she was also amused by her father’s attempted explanation. She was also happy that they had given her and Reed their blessing to continue their relationship as long as they were safe.

Although Delilah was young and in love with her parent’s blessing, Zachary was old and tired. He had become a famous comedian, but the world was starting to wear on him. The Grim Reaper came, looked at his green hair with puzzlement, and took another soul. The family mourned Zachary, but knew that it was his time.

Tyler had a career as a programmer, but wanted to find a woman to settle down with and have a family. His attempt at flirting were not very successful.

“You look like a filthy hobo!” One of the women said to him with disgust after a particularly bad pick-up line. Tyler was a bit embarrassed, but did have to admit that perhaps the beard, beanie, and pajama pants weren’t exactly lady-charming attire.

Finally, after several more evenings of exploring his options at the bar, Tyler met Allyson. She had beautiful golden hair, and Tyler was instantly attracted to her. Allyson laughed when Tyler sat down next to her, perhaps in reaction to his looks and clothing. She seemed to be disdainful of him, but after a few drinks and some light flirting, she began to see his inner charm.

“Do you want kids?” Tyler asked, not realizing he was coming on a bit strong. Allyson blushed and mumbled something quietly. Tyler realized he had caused an awkward situation and tried to steer the conversation in a different direction.

“What do you like to do for fun?” he ventured. Allyson pointed at a girl at the bar.

“Watch,” she told him with a smirk. Tyler watched as the girl sipped her drink and made a sour face with puckered lips. Allyson laughed hysterically. “Lemon juice. Works every time.” Tyler was taken aback by how such a beautiful, kind looking woman could be so mischievous, but he was intrigued. “I like pulling pranks on people,” she said, collecting herself. “Mostly harmless ones, though - your fly’s undone.” Tyler panicked and looked down at his pants. His fly was fully zipped. He looked back up at Allyson and started to laugh with her. He had never met a girl like her, and he found himself captivated by her.

Delilah’s romance continued into adulthood, and Reed was a frequent guest at the McEntire household. Delilah had become very romantic, and would read poems to Reed proclaiming her undying love for him. The two were as close as ever.

Delilah proposed to Reed one afternoon, and he said yes. The couple was overjoyed, and decided to move into their own house. The family was sad to see Delilah leave, but knew that she needed to have a place of her own with the love of her life.

Tyler invited Allyson over for a date, and the two cuddled on the couch. Kendall, who had completed her career goal of becoming a Boss, came in and insisted on sitting next to them as they talked and giggled. She had had no time for love in her busy life and looked at them with disgust.

Kendall died in the living room, but was glad she was wearing her stylish, intimidating work attire with the vest and classy fedora. She hoped to develop a relationship with the Grim Reaper in death, as he was so deliciously evil. She didn't want to die, but at least she looked good!

Caroline and Ronaldo had become elders, and although grayer, they were happy to have more time together. Ronaldo had retired, but Caroline was determined to keep her job until she has no other option. Nonetheless, the two were young at heart, and cherished the time they have left together.

Ronaldo died of old age, and Caroline was very sad. She would no longer be able to laugh at his gibberish or hear the comforting words, “Grimple frib” whispered in her ear. She missed him sorely and was very sad for a long time, but eventually, she began to heal.

Caroline began dating another man, although he would never fill the hole in her heart that Ronaldo had left. Nevertheless, Caroline was not one to let life keep her down for long and was determined to move on.

Caroline kept up with her exercise up to the last day of her life, when she collapsed from overexertion.

Tyler and Delilah mourned their mother and father, but had begun their own journeys. Delilah had moved out to start a life with Reed, and Tyler had found Allyson, who had quickly charmed and captivated him.
